  1. Sorry I didn't phrase that very well but you got what I meant. Yeah gross ttt is what i wanted and net is of course what I'm really working on but net is too subjective (especially fuel mileage, payment, etc.) so isn't really helpful for getting info. when someone's giving you an idea on average income. With gross u can take that and subtract your own numbers to figure out your specific situation.. thanks @spyder7723

  3. If I came over I'd be looking to do just like Spyder seems to. Cheaper truck since i can fix or build about anything (but I'm afraid i can't go aero truck I like some of them actually but I'm a poor business man cause there's something about the hood lol) and stay around the house allot. I'd probably run farther and stay out longer to get reserves built up when the demand is there but hang out within a day of the house when possible. Btw I'm 37 and a 9 and 2 at home so I'm trying to set my budget backwards. See what u can make subtract known bills and deductions you want then see what's left to buy a truck new enough to be wired. I'm probably oversimplifying it but that's what I'm doing. If it works great if not I got a steady paycheck I don't have to leave but I hate it and really need to get back trucking.. lol.

  4. well I'm going bank to reading page 2017 thanks for the info. guys, many including me appreciate it. Btw where I'm at flightline's truck is for sale and I assume it sold but I would be dumb not to at least ask. Lol.

  5. Wait a minute he's got a vlog? I watched all super trucker Dan's and I was impressed. He seems a good guy and I picked up some handy Mercer tidbits in there he probably didn't even realize. I must say though he really needs some help with broadening his horizons when it comes to mechanics. I'd love to get my hands on his old truck he's got a perfect blank canvas to create a solid truck there..IMHO. I did find one brief one from a guy named CJ. Is that @CJINDATRUCK himself? Tell me there's more.

I'm surprised you haven't made videos of the things you do on your truck, probably could make some extra money on YouTube.

From reading your posts id say you are a perfect candidate for a late 90s to early 2000s truck. You can pick decent ones up all day long for under 20k. Sure its not the show truck quality decked out 379.. But an fld, classic, or t600. The first few months might be frustrating while you fix everything the previous owner neglected, but as long as you are willing to get your hands dirty you will make it through and have a solid money making dependable truck in six months.

As for aero vs hood. I had the hood, then went to an aero cause it's the smarter business move, and loved it till i had to get the wrenches out and cussed that #### aero truck every time i had to twist my body into a freaking yoga master contortionist. The older i got the more it hurt and finally enough was enough and i got the hood again. Every truck is gonna break and since I'm the one working on it the couple grand a year in fuel savings ain't with the physical pain i got to put my body through fixing it.

  10. Not to pick on Pete but I'm thinking he'd make more on videos of what NOT to do on YouTube.. lol.. kidding Pete. I'm ann international fan myself but the 9200's are like the ford ranger of international.. They're cheap to buy and get the job done butttt they're cheap. I think spyder said once he was just gonna load up tools and follow him around and it's a tempting idea. Congrats on getting it paid for I think I read earlier though. Btw... I've got a 4300 so I can make fun of your truck since yours is better than mine.

  11. I agree that's about the era truck I've been looking at. I actually looked at a decent t2000 the other day but it was ordered new by an o/o with 475hp cat and 13spd apu, webasto and well maintained he just sold it to get away from ELD. That isn't the norm with aero trucks that age though most are old company spec'd and just beat to ####. Generally the traditional long hood trucks are in better shape and more taken care of but not all. They do hold value a ton better. I'll probably end up with a Int. 9300 if i can find a good one or maybe 9900 but not a huge fan of the integral sleeper setup. If not that a W900 would be nice I've driven a couple of day cabs and like them ok. Now I gotta admit something I'm ashamed of and keep in mind I was raised to think peterbilt was all show and no work which is hard to overcome. I drove a 359 for a bit and i could comfortably use both armrests being (6'6" 250lbs. so space is important) which made it easy to ignore that brand. The other day a guy talked me into sitting in a 389 unfortunately it was really comfortable and I'm an ex pilot and a&p so I really liked seeing the rivets on the hood. I feel dirty.
