I may be an odd duck, but my wife has printed off the load sheet for every load I have pulled in over 7 years, i have a copy of every of every bol I have delivered here, she has also reconciled every load settlement since I have been here,
.
We have had 2 or 3 times where the pay was off because of a stop left off, it was straightened out each time.
But on the occasions where the settlement above the agreed amount , several times, I have always called and said you paid to much, they are surprised but usually say the fuel surcharge changed or the rate was adjusted.
It works both ways. Yes I actually do that, how many call of they pay you 50 bucks to much? -

Dude, it's ok if we have a conversation about Mercer without it being always positive. Bad things do happen at Mercer just like everywhere else. Yes, a lot of good things happen as well but people need to see it from ALL angles, not just the good side.
I don't think I've been over paid here yet. It may happen and if it does I'll call them to let them know. It used to happen at my old job quite often and I would go tell them about it. I was known for doing and one day our new payroll girl messed up and overpaid me. The other girl caught it and brought it to the new girl's attention. New girl asks what they need to do about it. They said nothing, he'll be in here later to let you know about it. I did exactly that, went in the office to let them know they overpaid me. Every time they just told me to keep it. It was never over $50.whoopNride, thaistick and spyder7723 Thank this. -

Yes, it is ok to discuss anything. I just posted the question a different way.
I gave my way of looking at it, the glass half full vs half empty?
If someone gets underpaid, someone surely gets overpaid .
But let me ask this, do you think you and I are the majority or minority when an overpayment occurs?
I would like to think we are the majority.
I am reluctant to mention this here, as it may not be well received, but I try to conduct myself following following my beliefs in my faith.
I try to see the better instead of the bad. It's why I try my best not to call names or use slights or insults when replying to people.
It just does seem folks do take exception if you dont follow a line in this page now of everything is bad and they are out to get us all. -
Agents are contractors also with a lot of factors constantly changing. I usually found Mercer to step in between if there is a difference. So many O/O don't realize that agents are in business to make money just like we are and they usually do more than just some paperwork to make their money. They are the salesman and recruiter of the loads and play a hard role being the middle man between the customer and the O/O. And Mercer keeps the to tighter rules than outside agents even though several loads come from outside agents. Having experience at Landstar, I found the agents to be so much for the customer than the O/O. I applaud Mercer for keeping most the agents in the middle if not for the O/O. I've seen more than once where Mercer paid the difference to the O/O just to make things right, even when they get no more from the agent.
Just my two cents.Mr huds, Klleetrucking, Highway Sailor and 1 other person Thank this.
