Pete, I actually agree with the communication could be better.

You might be surprised at how some of us take that straight to the top. Its discussed a lot .

It's like a two edged sword for me, mercer yo me still has some old school feel, it could be said the very things I like about them , can also be the sources of my frustration.

See, I dont mind the operating hours , it's kind of how folks operated in the old days. Keep in mind I been doing this for 38 years, after 4 years in the army . Many of you weren't born when I started .
Most of the concerns here , have been discussed, very heartily with folks at mercer by myself and others.

It differs in how it's done, I dont think the name calling etc should be done.

Yes you could have got a phone call about the points , but the guy who makes those calls was out, len dunham.

The letter is standard, that goes out regardless.

You simply had a case of a mistake on the 25 points.
That's all it was, a simple mistake. It took me 2 phone calls and 15 minutes to get someone to straighten things out for you.

I helped instead of just posting about it

Thanks. I was going to ask them next time I called but figured someone here would have a answer. Thank you for finding out.

My friends on the Front Range have been saying it has been hotter there the past week than it has been in Moab or St George.

You passing through CO or picking up somewhere there?

My two cents for what they're worth:

I find the communication lacking a bit too. However, I make it a point to ask my coordinator once a week for anything I should be aware of. Changes like the app going away for instance. I did found that out here, but the next chance I got I asked about it to verify. The workaround on the Cweb is a pain on my phone with my fat thumbs, but I still make do. A tablet would really ease things even though I realize I'm spending money just to keep pace with changes. It is what it is.

But I feel the communication is double edged. I don't typical get buggered with calls all day (funky parameters will do that) and I have gone a solid week without talking to my coordinator. She sees I'm hammering things out fine, maybe a check call to make sure I'm still good on what I have scheduled. But other than that, it stays quiet on my end. And I love it that way. I've been dealing with agents directly more recently and like it. But I still make a point to call my coordinator every couple of days. Sometimes she can see things before me.

Operating hours are fine in my book. I ain't ever seen a load catch fire because I couldn't get ahold of anyone. But they say never say never...lol

I've been a company driver that communicated through Macros, an independent dealing with brokers all hours of the day through all methods of communication, a leased owner op that had to call in to dispatch twice a day and now this. This is honestly what I've been wanting ever since I sat behind the wheel of a truck. Go where I want, do what I want and largely left alone.

Is it without flaws? No. The origin miles and arrive/depart buttons being screwed up don't help anything, but I can work around them. The late reason always showing up when I do a depart call bugs me, but I've talked to relations about it and they've made note of it. Out of my hands and I'm not getting any service failures so meh, whatevs.

I'm 0/6 on good military loads, but I don't hold anyone accountable. They just don't seem to work out for me lol.

I don't try to rock the boat. I'll hand out oars and guidance where I can but most times I just paddle along on my lonesome. I like it here and things work for me, even if they seem to change from time to time. I don't make mountains out of molehills but I don't turn a blind eye at them, and I accuse no one of doing either.

Rates are still good and there is plenty to go around ao I don't see why there is such a fuss over these little things.
