    Your situation is not the same as everyone else's. Let me give you two examples of mine;

    1. Last Friday night I was out of hours, my 12 and 16 were gone and I was a little over hour from home, 3 hours from the nearest truck stop. I could either take a 10 right there, eat truck food and smell myself all night or drive home to a nutritious meal, a hot shower and my own bed.

    2. Last night I was out of hours at Frazier Park, just north of LA. Do I sleep there and deal with morning commute traffic, which would turn a mellow two hour trip into 3 stressful ones, or cruise into town in the middle of the night, find a shady spot to sleep and have a relaxing morning (at least by LA standards)?

    Not hard decisions for me.

    The problem isn't elogs per se, it's the lack of flexibility in the HOS and the loss of ability to create a certain amount of flexibility via paper logs. IMHO elogs have little or nothing to do with safely. They are all about compliance, and control.

    I gave my company the wrong routing number for direct deposit on purpose so I don’t even get a check.

    Cmon man. Surely you’ve learned to recognize my sarcasm by now. You’ve read some of my posts on Where’s everyone 5. I’ll say I get back everyday on Elogs, no matter what happens.

    Oh and you got a good lookin ride there in the shakey.

    Then lead by example and explain how paper logs are inherently better when running strictly legal.

    Go ahead. I'll wait.

    Indeed there is. The anti-ELD brigade you brought found it.

    It's a personal preference .

    Can you explain why some guys prefer 11R 24.5 tires and some prefer 285/75- 24.5 tires?

    Go ahead, I'll wait.

    Surely. Gearing, height or wear adjustments. Something practical.

    Personal preference is not showing any inherent advantages for paper over electronic. So since your own advice is so solid, I'll ask again; Why is running paper inherently better when running 100% legal?

    I'll continue waiting.

    roshea Thanks this.
