I run up there a lot..... plenty of freight and rates are good going in. You can get decent rates going out most of the time too, but you just have to learn the area and where it's at up there. I live in Mississippi, but my girlfriend lives just south of Worcester in CT and I can usually make decent money running local up there as well.

I used to run into Putnam landfill a lot. You still run that flat in your avatar or a step as well? I’m right off exit 7 on the pike/rt90. Is there consistent local work or just occasional? really would rather not stay out much more then 10 days if I don’t have to, can I still turn dollars with a step up this way to have the option on those loads and just suck it up if I have to drag out the 10’ tarps and OS stuff or is flat absolutely the way to go? I’m just burnt out from the last ~10 years of dump/low bed

Any chance of pming me a screenshot of the board If you get a free minute or two today please? Kinda curious

I run the truck and trailer in the picture. I've never run step but I'd say most of the flat freight we haul can go on either... most. Consistent local stuff??? Eh, not consistent enough to be home everyday and make great money, but you could probably get in with the agents well enough to gross $3k a week. 10 days out wouldn't be hard at all though. You could easily be home every weekend or 10 days if you wanted. Youd have to learn the lanes, but that's an easy run to the midwest and back or down south, to the midwest, then back.

Thanks I appreciate it, 3k would be home every night or running to the Midwest and back? I don’t need to be home everyday but the option if I want to be lazy is nice, I just didnt want to be out 3-4 weeks because of there not being anything up this way, weekends home or 10 out 4/5 home would be ideal for me

$3k and home every night.... most of the year.... and you may have to haul 47k to do it.

Problem is every trucking company has had to adapt.

Well the DOT Blitz week for the first time in 13 years stopped me for a inspection. Missouri.

I am curious to see if anyone in PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA gets the Spotted Lanternfly Inspection ... I do not think that will be done by DOT officers, but the PA AG inspectors would have trucks sitting there just waiting to be checked. Kind of like how IRS inspectors colocate with DOT to check fuel. So far I have not heard of any inspections after all the talk about "hard enforcement" starting last month.
