I was told that as long as no body complained, the city didn't care. But if someone complained, the truck had to be moved.
After some research I discovered you could park up to a 26.5 foot motor home in your driveway. I was debating on getting the most rusted out, ugly 26 footer I could find and parking it in the drive when the truck was gone. Then moving it and replacing it with the truck when I was home. Figured I would do that until the complaints stopped
Never bought the motor home, sold the house and moved out of town. Problem solved. I have never lived in town since.
Pete; I say it's a bad idea. Take your time and find something that works for you, It will make life easier on you for years to come.D.Tibbitt, Klleetrucking, TruckerPete1990 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Need some honest answers. I just come to Mercer about 4 months ago and although I really like it here and am treated very well I am struggling some with making enough. I have not pulled fb freight for years because I have been pulling a propane tank for the last several years and it paid about $2.25 all miles.
My question is I know last year was kind of a fluke year for fb freight but how do you consider this year? Is it way down, about even, running average? Just from what I’m observing right now freight is slightly down everywhere and the good lanes change on a weekly basis. Seems I have to dh to get to something remotely worth hauling 75% of the time and I live in Ohio.
My past loads say I’m running $2.12pm and 14% dh but doing my quarterly paperwork I’m showing $1.52 all miles and I know my expenses are $1.10 to 1.20 bases on my miles I run and fuel so not doing so great. Trying to figure out if maybe it’s just lean times with fb and stick it out or to go on to something else because this is par for the course so to speak with fb!!
By the way yes I know why would you leave the tank gig paying so much? Because until someone who has been in those shoes that knows your life is basically over for about 10 months out of the year because you literally work 24/7 because of the exceptions and I’m getting to old for that crap. Believe me it’s 24/7 on the universal 8 hours of service only sleep u get us while pumping on or off which you should not be doing.
Thanks for the help -

I don’t think it’s just a Mercer thing I think it’s fb everywhere. I just have not been in this market for so long I don’t have a feel for how it’s doing. If everyone says well it’s just lean times because over capacity than I’m going to stick it out but if not I need to move on or just time to hang it up. Not sure it’s worth the headache anymore

I'm not fb, but actually get a kick seeing what you guys can tie down on that skate-board. I run the I-5 and have noticed this year that more and more fb's are deadheading much more than I have seen in the past. Just stating an opinion from my side of the street. Stay safe!
