It's even worse now

 

My first week back after a month off....I'm stacked up with 3 pretty good loads....I was OOS when I came back do to fact I didn't get my y pipe replaced and reinspected before I left.
There's a lot of cheap freight on the board, and it's obviously a bit thinner than last year, but I continue to make decent money.... If and when I cant, I'll jump ship with a quickness no if, ands, or buts about it.

 

I just briefly looked on the Van board out of my area the volume far out weighs the flat side...

 

That's surprising, definitely a 180 flip from last couple of years.

 

It been that way for quite a while now in a lot of areas...

 

It is shocking especially where the company that's been primarily open deck for many years...

 

Just as reference point, I just compared Van to Flat out of Chicago... Within 200 miles.... 3 times the amount of Van loads versus Flat.


Not to mention half those Flat loads listed are for show anyhow... Probably 50% of them will be "No good" for one reason or another...

 

Sacramento, California.... Within 200 miles... 3 Flat loads listed 37 Van loads.....

 

Tampa, Florida... 2 Flat Loads listed... 1 Van load...

 

It wouldn't be uncommon for half the van loads to be already booked too.
