The axles won't be all the way forward. Of course kinging setting has some to do with it. Lots of states have a kingpin to axle law. Look at all the W9s and 379s pulling 53' trailers. Almost all of those trucks will have a 280" wheelbase.

Florida has the 41' kingpin rule, but also max 40k tandem weights, not 34k.

Hope everything is going well for yall. Tell you one thing I spent most of my week in Iowa and the DOT there is picky.. Got me on 2 violations one for seat belt(was 1 mile) forgot to put it on as my day was hell in a basket already lol. Then he picked my logs apart and gave me a shipping violation because I didn't have my shipping numbers in when I did a 34...
JonJon78 Thanks this. -
How can they give you a violation for something for the time when your off duty.
So they are now regulating what you are allowed to do when off duty? -
You've always had to do a log book on off duty time. Sounds like he did a 34 under load. A shipment id is required any time you have a load on.
-
They are getting ridiculous. They must have lost a lot of money since ELD’s went into use. They must be trying to make it up. That so called violation had absolutely no impact on HOS or safety. Was an honest mistake. Next they will writing tickets for misspelling shippers name.
I’ve done this for 31 years, I believe it’s time to move on.jsnell and Klleetrucking Thank this. -
No I was empty
-
Seems so... He was just looking for #### to get me on.
-
If you were empty then there's is no violation. You can't have shipper info if you don't have a load.jeff18 Thanks this.

He said I should of put a 0 and my trailer number. I didn't have anything in there because I was on my 34 it didn't popup with anything.
