Not exactly, but you are 95 miles from me and my house. Did you need anything Skateboardman? If you need something I would be happy to come and help.

If i were you, just a option i would go with a company like CRST Malone, do like 1yr get all your gear, get some experience, then come over to Mercer, i kinda did that i did 2 years then bought out my Lease and brought my Gold truck over to Mercer with all the Flatbed gear, only thing i had to buy in Orientation was a Headache rack

Did you just tell someone to go to CRST and do a lease purchase?

no not a L/P necessarily, from my point of view if you have no experience its easier i think to go to them get the gear its about 500 cheaper than what a couple guys in my orientation paid for, and they train you and you can get used to hauling flatbed on a rental trailer, then when you feel confident in your ability i came over, and leased a 51 step with some experience and not too worried about tearing it up, and not having that huge debt either to work off buying all new gear plus your 1st year at least mine until i got it down pat your tarps ar going to get tore up which is another expense on top of the 3k you just dropped for the gear idk its just matter of opinion.. but i dont reccomend their L/P its a Royal pain in the ### average 20hr oil changes required at their terminals ..... no just the experience part then walk away from the lease with the experience and the gear and i have nothing but amazing tings to say about mercer, by far i've never been treated as well, i love it here

edit... i kept my gold truck because i had it for so long and knew it and took care of it, so i was comfortable with buying out the lease

    Wow
So your saying it's better to do a lease purchase/Tied to a company and at their mercey for a year to save $500 on equipment?

Equipment was probably only cheaper at CRST because you bought it a couple of years ago. Equipment has gone up considerable in price in last couple of years.

The last thing i have to say about it on this subject is, look at Mercer CSA Scores, Look at Malone CSA Scores. Specifically Vehicle Maintenance which would relate to load Securement... See the difference... and while were having this conversation I'm not Saying only Malone i dont care what flatbed company you choose to gain experience from...so if your ok with Mercer allowing people with Zero Flatbed experience learn on our CSA Score, that basic will climb, why not let the Driver Learn how its done then come here, Besides, when i filled out my Application Mercer had a 1 year Flatbed Requirement before they would hire you anyway so if its changed fine, if its not then there isn't even a point to this conversation. would you hire a Driver to drive one of your trucks with no flatbed experience i wouldn't..
