my friends step he got from Mercer must be heavy. He can only scale 43000 lbs with 150 gallons in his W900B.

A step is always going to be heavier than a flat. But if you could only scale 48 with the flat, it isn't the trailer that's heavy. I can scale 50k easy with my Mercer provided great dane flat. 51 if I watched my fuel and didn't carry so much crap with me.

What's crazy is I can't figure out why my truck is so heave it's a dang 2010 Freightliner Columbia I don't understand why it's so much heavier I had a friend at Malone who had one of the Crete freightliners that Malone has and he was 29,000 empty vs my 32,000 I don't know why my Columbia is so heavy

Ok y'all, I have been catching up on the thread since I have been working this past week and haven't really had a chance to. So why all the hating on the l/p guys earlier this week? I like my truck, I don't mind the payments, and I don't jump on cheap freight just to make it. Now I admit, I probably have been running a little cheaper than some of you, but that's more or less because I still haven't learned the freight lanes and I've put myself in some not so good ones. I'm not going broke by any means, and can easily sit if needed to wait on a better load. That being said, I have learned a few valuable lessons already and hopefully won't make those mistakes again ie, accepting a load over the phone from an agent that when vaguely explained sounds great, but once you stop and look at it you realize you just screwed yourself, but hey, I'm still new. I've hit my minimum goal and then some every week, have had time to get a restart in every week (minus this week, but I really haven't needed one at all, not running hard), and despite what you may view as a high payment, it works for me and I have grown my business account a lot faster than expected despite cutting myself a $1200 check every week. I am very happy with making the switch to Mercer last month, and while I have only been here a month and have quite a bit of learning to do, especially since I made the switch from reefer to flat when I came here, I have already found myself being a lot more successful than even I had thought I would be this quick. I know that will only get better from here as well, as my fuel mileage goes up even more when this truck gets broke in, and as I learn the freight lanes, make contacts, and ultimately fine tune how I use the load board. Thanks to everyone who talked me into going flat, as you know I was leaning toward van when I first started on this thread. Not only am I making money, but I have lost over 20 lbs just from the little added exercise and drinking more water after sweating. It still takes me forever to tarp, but that is a work in progress. I'm getting faster, but still feel extremely slow.

first off it aint a lease purchase, you leased a truck somewhere else and leased it on here. not the classic lease purchase like swift and some others.

see that why you new guys are catching flak, you don't even know what you are, lol.
