I think you may be missing the point that they are making. It's not that the actual requirements have changed. Many other things have and still are changing. These LP trucks are new for one. Heck the van division is realitivly new and Mercer only started growing it recently. Just like you and I am new. Sometimes it is best to sit back and watch the guys that have been here longer vent then it is to try and get in the middle of it. As for cheap freight? Once you get here you can make your own mind up about that. Do you know who 315 is? Do you think he is at Mercer or knows more then you? He is not and might not.

If you are not assigned a load then you have 50 miles for PC. If you have a new load that you are picking up tomorrow then you can not advance towards the load. So your suppose to pick up 7 miles north of where you emptied. You can goe E,W or S but not north. Best to head south. Remember, we can travel 5 miles without going on duty too. But if you try and go 2 miles north and DOT catches you then you will be in trouble. 49 miles South, no problem.

And Pete is correct about leaving a customer because they won't let you park there. However, you can leave to eat, shower, shop, go see a movie............ Just not cause the customer said so.

I'm not in the middle of anything really. I'm just trying to make a decision. I actually was asking a serious question. What standards have changed. Lease purchase trucks is a very big deal. If you have ever worked for a company with lp trucks you know what I mean. If there are 17 year old drivers pissing(sarcasm) in the parking lot. Rates are dropping etc. Those are things you want to know before you sign. This forum is awesome for the new guys. The older guys are helping us tremendously. So I don't mean any disrespect to you or anyone else

Oh don't worry, you can't disrespect me. I'm still the new guy here. But you shouldn't let one persons comment get you upset. Go read his other postings, then decide if it's something that should make you worry or not.

It wasn't throwing the code at inspection so I don't know what Mercer would say,but the guy at Detroit said it can't regen while throwing this code. If I run it it's just going to clog the DPF and cause other problems.

Hey man listen... if you want to come over to Mercer come on... the Van side is doing well...I just grosses 5k this week if u must know.... you can't ask the same question a thousand times on here.. don't worry about what the next person opinion is of the company is.. what he don't like you might like and vice versa... so if u coming over we're glad to have you.. if not asking the same questions and voicing the same concerns isn't putting money in your pockets... be safe out there guys

Pay depends on what you take. Van isn't bad but its still growing. I'm getting lazy n don't mind extra work for extra money. Plus there is good paying stuff where I live same town lol. When I started I was 190 now I'm 235? I'm breaking a sweat just jumping up n out of trailer. I'm out of shape.. that's why I'm moving to flatbed..
