Well...finally got the call I was looking for...got approved today an will be at orientation on the 6th of January.
Bad news: got up an ran a load over to Georgia from Alabama today an noticed my abs light wouldn't turn off on the trailer. (Brand new trailer btw)
Needless to say, being that we were hit with the holidays all of the trailer shops are booked for the next week an a half or so....so I may have to push my date up even further in order to get this trailer in the shop somewhere before I take it to mercer for inspection

Is it lighted up on the days also?, , get a test light and Che k the pigtail for constant power to abs. Usually center , if power, clean the hole for the abs power in pigtail, sometimes the corrode and if they lose power, the ought comes on, check fuses in tractor. They will blow, also. ,

Since you are going up on a Wednesday, you will be hard pressed to get things done to roll out on Friday, so anytime you have a break at orientation, use that time to complete your tractor weigh ticket, your trailer measurement sheet. And the many other things you got to do, like headachecrack equipment etc. 8e else we will see you in Louisville on the 11th

    Ditto with SBman.

I've had plenty of trailers that just took some fiddling with pigtails to get out of the yard.

Or being that it is brand new a coupler could have been "soft-set"
When I worked in manufacturing this was the biggest warranty claim.

A coupler is the plastic piece that connects wires together. If it's soft set everything will work fine until you hit a big enough bump that shakes it loose. Follow the wires and make sure all connections are actually secure, even if they appear to be good visually they could be separated.

I have probably all of the load securement equipment I'll need on my rack already...minus a a couple of chains.
I'll have to get weighed out an measured I'm sure.

I recently had a dump valve installed on the rear axle so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it

It depends on which axle the abs sensors are on.

Weighed and all the measurements are a requirement, best to buddy up and you and another guy help each other out, I see your not starting from scratch in flatbedding, in the measurements consist of all your axle spacing trailer deck height at front middle and back, they give you a sheet, that's why. You don't have all that info when ordering permits , they already got it. I tell ya this because you can't get on the board for a load tic everything is done, since you already have your trailer, get your inspection ASAP,

Does mercer do the trailer inspection or can I get one done at a local shop somewhere?
Do they have a repair shop there as well?
I may end up having to let them repair the issue with the abs light on my trailer if I can't get it in a shop before Wednesday
