I am a driver wannabe. I have been researching company sponsored schools. Millis seems very appealing and there is a school a couple hours away from me. I've read horror stories about students getting to school at certain companies and then being sent home because the company finds something in your background check.

I am currently working full-time at a dead end job. It isn't much but it's all I've got right now. I can't afford to quit to go to school then be sent home.

My question is, does Millis complete these checks before you get there? Did anyone attend this school or another school that definitely clears you before you arrive. I do not have a perfect past, so I understand I could get a NO. I just need to get it before I take the leap.

    Thanks!

Just make sure you answer all questions asked of you honestly...and you should have no problem. Remember you are not hired till you complete the schooling.

Thanks! Did you go to Millis? Did they complete the checks before you got there?

Take that advice very strongly. Answer EVERYTHING they ask, precisely, but nothing more.

Research your own record as they will first, so you know where you stand.

I did not work there either, I've just seen a lot of pain on here.

I've read some awful things about places where they get people to their school then decide they don't like something in their background and send them packing. I totally understand that I could get a NO, but it'd be nice to get it before I quit my job. Do you know if Millis or maybe another school makes that decision before you get to orientation?

From what other drivers have posted, Millis and Swift both check first.
Ensure the application is complete and Millis will probably accept you.

I am curious as to what deep dark secret you are hiding. They will get it out of you. They have some of the best trained people in the world looking into your past.

I'm fairly certain that Millis requires a $100 deposit before officially accepting you to make sure all of your background check comes back clear, since it isn't an inexpensive process. They don't just say "your application looks good, welcome aboard."

To be fair, I don't claim firsthand knowledge of the process, but it is what I understand to be the case. That's how it worked out for me, I wasn't accepted there until after the deposit.
