We are delivering to an Amazon facility and they tell us to drop trailer in a dock and come back. We did as instructed and dropped the trailer last night and we come back to pick up trailer this morning and its not in the dock. We looked all over the facility and they do not know the whereabouts of our trailer, at least at the moment. This is a new Amazon facility in Hazel Park MI. So what is the protocol in a situation like this besides filing a police report and contacting my insurance company. The broker on this load is telling us to wait until monday because they are the weekend crew. If they do not find out trailer who is responsible the broker, Amazon or will this be something our insurance pays for? I am wishing i had invested in a gps tracker ARGH

That place probably is covered in cameras. It shouldn't be hard to find who took the trailer.
x1Heavy, Steel Dragon, Puppage and 2 others Thank this. -
Do a search here. Someone said that amazon was USING(not just for storage either) their trailer after they dropped it at one of their facilities.
x1Heavy, Steel Dragon, tucker and 6 others Thank this. -
Hope you're not getting scammed here OP. -
Thats what they are telling me is that another carrier probably took it and that it may be on its way to Indiana or Illinois somewhere. How is that ####ing possible it has my company name right on the nose of trailer. They are pleading to not contact the police just yet. She also tried offering me another trailer, but i do not want another trailer, i want my trailer! And who is responsible if who ever took my trailer bangs it up or takes my new tires?
Dan.S, x1Heavy, Steel Dragon and 7 others Thank this. -
Don't do amazon. Unfortunately they have a lot of money and aren't afraid to use it to squash the little guy.
whoopNride, x1Heavy and mhyn Thank this. -
Probably another of your drivers came in and took it (because they were in need of an empty). Happens all the time. It's a dog eat dog world at the megas (assuming you're at a mega dry van carrier)
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I understand you need an empty but how do you take a trailer that does not belong to you makes no ####ing sense
whoopNride, x1Heavy, JReding and 1 other person Thank this.
