Sheybogan Falls is a great area with wonderful classic Wisconsin people like Charlie Berens dontcha know?

I miss delivering milk to Gibbsville Cheese up there. Some of the best Cheddar in the state without that premium Blue Bunny price. Honestly their Cheddar is like other companies 15 year Chedd at 1/2 the price! Sadly i've never seen it in stores locally.

I hope you can get a little sight seeing in Thrasher!

edit** oh yeah plenty of miles to be had in the upper midwest. I did more miles per week "local" milk than Millis Otr.

Yessir, I love the upper Midwest, especially Wisconsin. I ran up to Marquette, MI once and fell in love with northern Wisconsin. The area up near Lake Superior I'd beautiful too. Great people in the state. I'd move there in a heartbeat if I was ready to be home more often.

Always thought it was funny how well Casey's represents Iowa and Kwik Trip represents Wisconsin. Can't really put it into words, but they really give off rhe vibe of their respective home states

Total as of yesterday was 12,929 miles + 7 or 8 paid stops for the first 29 days here. After the Wisconsin dedicated week, ended up picking up at Ottawa, IL and had a couple stops that ended in Duluth, MN. Headed back to Eau Claire, dropped in Le Mars, shuttled a trailer from Sioux City to Des Moines for another driver, and then deadheaded back. Picked up a Bomgaar's load that delivered at a store in Sioux City, a store in Lyons, KS, and then picked up a backhaul going back to Sioux City that delivers Tuesday morning. Backhaul was considered a 'stop' since it's going back to Bomgaar's, so that's an extra paid stop.

Sitting here in Salina for my 'home time' to see a friend for the weekend and road trip to KC. Salina isn't exactly out of the way, but is much appreciated they let me take my home time here without any questions considering I live in Kentucky. Some of those lot lizards are nice folks when you get to know them ;)

Solid first month here and can say, so far, that it wasn't rose colored glasses that made me want to come back!

That’s great running. Glad it’s all working out! How is the truck setup in forms of safety nonsense? I know you said it could recognize speed limit signs but is it always dinging and buzzing and beeping at you constantly like a Freightliner?

It's got plenty of the nonsense unfortunately lol. Luckily, the following distance is set close enough that you're not really setting it off, even when running down another truck. Blind spot monitor only dings once with the turn signal on. And it seems like the lane departure has been improved a bit. Not nearly as much dinging from tar snakes and sun glare.

Oh yea that’s still leagues better than the chorus of bull-####-ery I listen to all day. As far as your loads it sounds good. I know Schuster hauls a lot of meat but with those miles you’re turning it must not be a lot of sitting around. That’s great. When I was reefer the company I was with didn’t have anywhere NEAR the trailer pool Schuster has. So it was a lot of “ok drop your trailer and we’ll call you when it’s ready”. I saw a lot of dirt lots for a lot of hours! Sounds like they got it figured out over there.

Tyson is still Tyson for sure. Those DDT's are brutal. Always like reading the reviews of people taking Tyson live loads thinking it'll be a couple hour loading time lol. Those days where it's 8 hours waiting at the meat packer, 400 miles to the receiver straight through, and then 6 hours in a dock get rough

But yeah, they've got it to where almost all outbound loads from Sioux City are drop and hook. And they've ramped up their local and regional divisions, so lots of the inbounds just get dropped at the customer or dropped for the local guys to take care of.

I've been liking the multi-stop runs though. Appointment times get less strict when it's only 5 pallets and the upper Midwest is usually pretty decent for in and out times from my experience. Basically just free pay for swinging doors and sitting for 30 minutes

I live in Alabama but if I was gonna be a Yankee Wisonsin is my first pick. I love the state and the people up there. Love it when I get a load up that way. Did a reset in Sheboygan and enjoyed it immensely
