Haha. I don't think I'd go that far to make myself standout but I do understand what you're saying.

No, don't be afraid to be harsh - I encourage it. I understand it's an ordeal. Second, misjudging was not sole cause. The condition were not pleasant due poor road conditions due recent snowfall but I do not want hid behind a plethora of excuses. I own up to the fact that at the end of the day, it was my mistake.

Do yourself a favor.....don't lie. About ANYTHING. If you do and somehow they find out (and believe me Murphy's Law comes only second to the FMCSR's ) they can and will fire you. No matter how long you've been working there. Just get and protect your CDL and keep plugging until you find a reputable company willing to take a chance. They are out there.

When you get your CDL just start applying, with your record as you have stated here you will qualify with just about any mega starter company as long as you have nothing else..no worries

Trust me. When I get my CDL, and when / if i find myself a job. I won't do a single thing to jeopardize it whatsoever. I'll be grateful for whatever comes my way after what has happened.

I'm going to be extremely cautious from now on and do everything in my ability to not earn another point or blemish. While OTR may not be thing with the Mega-starters, I'm going to jump on and protect whatever opportunity comes my way.

Well, sliding into an intersection isn't any better. Going too fast for conditions. None of us are angels, we've all had tense moments, but that was years ago, when an infraction wasn't the end of the world. Now, you can't fart without it going to the Pentagon, especially in your position, where you have to make a good impression right off the bat, and ANY infraction looks bad today. I don't think you're career is over, but a boss will look at it the same way I'm doing, it just looks bad and will probably pass you by.

Absolutely. Take it from someone who has been thru the legal system numerous times. Most of it much worse than a traffic boo boo.

A decent lawyer can work wonders - Good Luck

Maybe so. But the kid will probably be watching stoplights like a hawk from here on out.
I doubt if he'll make the same mistake any time soon.
