Exactly what I was thinking. Your state reps office can get it fixed faster and have the valid DL paperwork faxed to their local office from the DMV for you to pick up until they mail the hard copy. They'll also notarize it too because usually one staff member is a licensed notary.

I'll take up your advice on calling some states reps , I've suddenly got nothing but time on my hands so might as well do what I can to expedite this process .

I ordered yet another driver record from the DMV. Turns out the cancelled both my CDL and my regular drivers license . Really not sure why they'd cancel the regular one since this seems to be an issue with my CDL particularly. Reading the record it's clear that there was an error made in issuing my original CDL and I must go to the DMV to obtain a fixed copy (still no mention of what that error was ).

I've got a relative doing a massive 14 hr round trip to bring me back home and I'm kicking myself not being able to at least drive some of it. At least I'll be with them for the last half , suddenly I'm remembering the days when a 200+ mile trip seemed like a long journey before I started truck driving.

Call your state Senator, If he/she is worth their salt, you'll have an appointment by the time you can get someone to drive you up there. You just gotta go over their head & that's part of what you pay your legislators for. Call him/her.

Well I got lucky. Someone dropped an appointment for next Tuesday about 30 miles north of my hometown. So really this is just me taking some home time . Well it could take some time getting issued a new truck if they give this one to someone else while I'm gone. Which I'm hoping they do this #### truck has been in the shop way too much

    You probably heard it before.
But you have to save some money.
    50 bucks a week, anything.

If your going to be OTR driving,
You need a couple thousand in the bank
    At all times.

    You got lucky this time.
You went from trucking along to couch surfing
    In one day.
    This was a test run.

You can quit or be fired anywhere in the country
At any time. So be prepared.
Seen it happen a thousand times,Me included.
So you need money to get home and pay your
Bills for a couple months till you get back to work.

The first time your sitting at a bus stop with
All your stuff, broke and a thousand miles from
Home. That's when reality sets in.

Now you know, you got no excuse to be
Caught of Gaurd the next time.
    Good luck.

Great advice. A good place to start is shop at Walmart once per week. Eat in your truck 90% of the time. You can save $500.00 per month right there!
