That's huge problem I've had I spend way too much in food . Last time I bought about 3 weeks worth of food from Walmart but I stayed out for 8 weeks .
Combine that with inconsistent paychecks due to mainly truck issues it's not a good combo.
If Im getting at least 2000 miles a week I have good enough Paychecks , I've not been able to string weeks like that in a row bc truck is in and out of the shop constantly.

I'm sure Pam has 20 to 30 empty trucks
Sitting at every terminal.
All big companies do.
See if you can go through them from top to
Bottom and pick one of those.
Might take a whole day, but it's worth it. -
I've brought the truck issues up to multiple people and they just tell me to take it to the shop every time . I'm not sure whose actually getting the new trucks but so far I've recovered two trucks (2016 international with 350k on it and a 2018 peterbilt with 250k on it). Oddly enough the older truck gave me alot less problemsWestern flyer Thanks this.

There not gonna tell you to go out back and
Get another truck.
You have to ask for it.
Get to the terminal where you got your truck.
Ask whoever assignees the trucks if you can
Change trucks.
They might say no, if they want you too run up
The miles on the truck you got.
So they can trade it in.
If they say yes, then go into the shop and get
The keys to the un assigned trucks.
Go through them with a full inspection.
Then pick one and move your stuff into it.
This wouldn't be a issue at a decent job,
Because they know your out there to make money.
But since your at a beginner company, there
Set in there stupid ways.
But it doesn't hurt to ask anyways.
A bad truck will put you in the poorhouse.
Don't become attached to them.
Once you lose that money, you can't make
It back up. It's gone.TokyoJoe Thanks this. -
There's Walmarts you can get to while on the road.
So you can restock.
I also keep track of any supermarkets that are
Close enough to a truck stop that I can walk too.
You'll figure all this stuff out.Truckermania Thanks this. -
Do you think the DMV would let me take my hazmat/tanker/doubles Triples endorsement tests while I'm there even though I'm originally just coming there to correct my liscence?

Let me tell you a little secret.......Tractor Trailers deliver $#!+ to Walmart every single day. There is plenty of room to pull around back (where all of the delivery trucks go), park OUT OF THE WAY, go inside, do your shopping, and be on your way. Look for the Supercenters. Look at the satellite view on Google Maps. You will see exactly how the delivery trucks get to the docks. There is usually tons of room to park along a curb and out of the way. I know you are new to this. DO NOT try to pull into the main parking lot where all of the cars are parked. I only say that because aI have seen morons try to do it. I hit a Walmart once a week. There are plenty right off of the Interstate all across the country. Find one along your route, WRITE DOWN your turn by turn to get to the back of the store. Don't just see one up ahead and try to wing it. Plan ahead!!Truckermania Thanks this.

I did walmart loads one week and they had to give us specific instructions on how to get into each Walmart so I know what you mean
I just refuse to put myself at risk right now. I'm on a long accident probation period and can't afford anything else. So I stay way from crowded places like that . Don't park at truck stops unless it's before 3pm or so . Etc . -
What a read lol good luck dude, I saw a Pam truck this morning and thought of you.
