I did that once too, the hiring manager asked about my experience and was it recent. I pointed out the window to my freightliner sitting in his parking lot, I said I have recent experience and a clean driving record, would you like to go for a ride. LOL!

Direct deposit leaves a paper trail that one has been getting paid from a certain company or employer for a period of time.
However, direct deposit might not actually verify actual driving experience.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, all year round.

Regulations say they have to verify employment. It’s the Law. Period. Simple form sent to them. SASE.

Nope. Regulations state the attempt has to be made though. If the old company can't be gotten a hold of simply document the attempts in a driver qualification file and move on. There is nothing in the regs that state the attempt has to be successful.

From the Regulatory Guidance section of 391.23

Question 1: When a motor carrier receives a request for driver information from another motor carrier about a former or current driver, is it required to supply the requested information?

Guidance: Generally no. See §382.405, however, for requests pertaining to drug and alcohol records.
