Momma's not happy that I want to go back on the road. I'm too antsy to retire yet. I'm goin on 55, fer christsake. Hoping a couple years in the pilot's seat will be enough. But I know deep down I should stay home.

Worst case scenario you can say you tried it. Hopefully it all goes well, with the new job and the miss’ at home!

Didn't end up working out. They have my accident that they can't look past. I can try again in January.

Now that I think of it, they would've started me at .51. Not too thrilled about that. After thinking about it, I'm going to stay retired - for now.

Might be the universe sending you a message. Enjoy your time off! Next time you and your wife are taking a Sunday cruise and pass a truck stop with every fuel isle full and not a hose 1 in any tank, you can be glad it’s not you!

    Knucklehead and dwells40 Thank this.

It was more of a volunteer thing, or would you want to go question when I was there. You’ll definitely see a lot of NJ and the rest of NE though, but you’re usually right back out of there.

What’s the freight like over there? And by that I mean is it alot of meat and/or produce? Or lots of deep frozen loads or a mix of anything needing a reefer?

    Knucklehead Thanks this.

I was told they don't go to meat lots, and do very little produce; and never out in the fields of CA.

When I was there it was a general mix of anything. No meat plants, I hauled 3 loads of oranges there, mostly taters out of Idaho. French fries and fish mostly from Washington.

Lots of cheese from Wisconsin, and just generally anything that needs a reefer.
