OK i seen alot of people do this so i thought i would share my experience with Pam transport and driver solutions. Ok driver solutions sent me to C1 in indianapolis to train. The hotel is no holiday inn and its down there but not all that bad. If you use to HOliday inn then i would recommend getting your own hotel. All in all not bad hotel its a budget inn kind of like a local motel its ok though. Ok i arrived on sunday didn't get much sleep was nervous had to be there at 6 monday morning. Ok monday was basically drug test and physical. Then they cover general knowledge for permit and thats all farther we got today. We have 30 people in our class right now so we'll see how many graduate. All in all i am impressed with school so far they said it is very accelerated and you got to bust your but at it. They want to graduate everyone then you get into truck with otr trainer thats where you learn the driving truck part makes since. Well I already have cdl permit for indiana so i get to skip the trip to bmv tomorrow i going to start working on pretrip so i keep you guys updated everyday if i can thanks.

I am very happy with my decision. Like i said i had my cdl permit for indiana before i came so that helped alot. But you still got to take pretest in class and to be honest i learned stuff in the class on those subjects. Day 2 covered general knowledge, air brakes combination took test after each subject. Then all indiana students or people with indiana license where sent to take permit test at bmv seeing how i already had it all i was done for the day. Everyone else stayed reviewed indiana operator's subject then went to bmv to take that test as well as permits. I am starting to work on learning pretrip they save if u know it be start of 2nd week you are ahead of the game. We do have saturday and sunday off but they recommend saturday going to practice pretrip which i plan to do with couple other guys so i will keep you all posted thanks for reading.

If you don't have a tractor and trailer to practice your pre trip on use your personal vehicle it will work the same way

Ok sorry internet problems kept me from posting but now i have completed week 1. All i can say is i have new appreciation for truck drivers. There is a lot more then driving a truck to truck driving which i knew there was but there is a lot more. LIke logging, mapping the trip all that stuff but i got it all down 90% or higher on all test. Now i moving on to week 2 which is driving range and pretrip. I going to spend all day sat and sunday practicing pretrip at the range sooner i get it down they say sooner we be able to test out. They test you at C1 before you can take your cdl test there test at C1 is harder so if you pass it you should pass cdl test. So i will try to update as i go alone now anyone consider school i highly recommend C1 they have been great thats driver solutions.

I'm seriously thinking about going w/ C1. can you tell me what I might need to bring w/me and is it better for me to have my own vehicle with me.I thought of having my wife drop me off and just visit with me on Sundays.

sounds like C-1 indy has cleaned up their act a little over the last yr or so.
cant say the same for the school my student went to west of ft worth. he is good and learned quickly, but they didn't teach him much at all. no mapping trip planning to speak of. they pulled out of then backed into the spots for backing maneuver. also the ACTUAL OWNER OF THE SCHOOL TOLD THEM (ACCORDING TO STUDENT) THEY WOULDN'T MAKE ANY MONEY RUNNING LEGAL!!!

Ok sorry i havne't posted in week or so my internet been messed up. I came home for the night to see wife and kids. Ok i got 2 full weeks under my belt here is how it went. Week 1 all class room working on getting indiana permit i arleady had this so it sucked. Then its mapping logging all the basics. Now after week 1 fun begins or you think lol. Ok day 1 week 2 i was teamed with 3 other people with instructor former drill seargent we didin't get along at all. He gave us demo on straight line backing, offside parking, parallel parking, street driving and pretrip demo. Now day 2 you should be doing pre trip on your own. spent morning on range doing straight line and starting to learn offside backing. After lunch on road this was a trip drill seargent screams and hollars hole time i was last one to drive was scared before i ever got behind wheel. Day 3 week 2 morning drill seargent got tooth ache screaming already on range i tell him i can't learn nothing with him screaming we go to office i get new instructor for the afternoon part. After lunch with new trainer i felt so more comfortable i do awsome. I got new range and street instructor and rest week went smooth still having few problems with off set and parallel but street and pretrip should test out at c1 on monday or tuesday latest now if i can just get range down. AFter you test out at C1 then they send you to license branch to take cdl test. C1 test standards are tighter then states so that if you pass them you should pass state. So i will try to keep you up to date on week 3 as it happens if i can get laptop back up and going i hope this helps for now i keep going after C1 when i go over the road. Oh yeah one guy in class did test out and got cdl today 2 weeks exactly he on bus way home with cdl's.
