Well I guess we all know that TMC is a pretty good company to work for. It would be nice if I could experience the company first hand.

I sent my application in the first week in CDL school. 1 week goes by and I didn't hear anything so I had the Director of Operations call the recruiting department. When get back from being out in the truck I am told that I need to call *** in the recruiting dept. So I call and find out that nothing had happened with the app. because they saw that I was on daily medication and that they wanted to see my DOT Physical so I sent it.

(I have an overactive thyroid and that is what my meds are for. Only problem is that I was not taking them at the time of the DOT exam so my blood pressure and heart rate was high. The DOT examiner passed me because I had my doctor fax in a letter that it was caused by the Hyperthyroidism and that it is getting under control.)

    1 week later
So... they review the DOT exam and say that my blood pressure was to high. I told them that I was not taking my meds but am now and my blood pressure is ok. So they ask that I go to the Dr. 3 days in a row and have my BP taken, recorded and send the results to them. So within 6 days they had what they wanted.

That was Monday the 16th. Since then I have been told to call back to find out the status of my application 10-11 times, 3 times in one day once. I have been given just about every excuse under the sun:

    Tue.
The TMC Dr. has to review my BP readings.
    Wed.
I haven't gotten it to the hiring committee.:biggrin_2556:
    Thur.
The hiring committee will meet tomorrow on it.:biggrin_2554:
    Fri.
The hiring committee didn't meet because to many of them were out today.:biggrin_25510:
I'll give the app to my manager do he can review it.:biggrin_255:
My manager isn't back from lunch yet.:biggrin_2554:
My manager wont be in till Monday.:biggrin_2554:

At this point my backside hurts. I really want to work for TMC, they were my first choice. I have pre-hires from 4 other companies but I do not want to call them until I get a NO from TMC (although a NO would be discrimination) because there is nothing wrong with me and I gave them what they asked.

I'll repost on Monday's findings. Sorry for the long post.

I have theorized before that the recruiting process is the first test at TMC. It is the test for patience. If you can't be patient and wait on the recruiters you probably wont' be patient enough when you have to wait for a load or something. :) I don't think this is an actual policy but it seems to hold true for about one in 5 potential recruits. I myself spent three weeks going through the hiring process at TMC, so have patience.

seems like they take longer with some people, one guy in my class hasnt got a definitive answer on a prehire after a week and a half, and i submitted my app on the net @ 2:30 am, and they called me at 9:30 am, got the prehire letter at 10am.

    just be diligent.

Just spoke to a guy who was in School with me. He has his pre hire since the 3rd day of school Total of 5-6 weeks. We both took our road test on the same day July 17th. All along he was due in to TMC on the 23rd to start orientation. He call the recruiting dept the day he passed his road test and let them know and they said OK it's a go, call on Thursday to finalize everything with the hotel, transportation and such.

Thursday comes and he makes the call..... Were sorry your application has been denied is what he is told. He takes a medication for migraines and they now want medical clearance......THEY KNEW ALL ALONG!!

I was also told to call on Thursday.... we'll see what happens

It was kinda funny. Yesterday I got a call on my cell phone from Mavrick in Arkansas. They said that they had just came to my name on the waiting list and to call them if I wanted a job. I called and told them that I had already accepted employment elsewhere because I hadn't even heard I was on a waiting list. I hope I will like TMC. Don't see whay I wouldn't. We'll see.
