    Just joined first post.
So. Been driving a year in August. Having some doubts because I've made a couple dumb mistakes and wanted to get some thoughts from others.
The short story. In the last six months I have:

Got stuck in snow/mud had to be towed out. No damage.

Tore my ferring on a building. Had to be replaced.

Had my front right bumper stolen.

Bumped into another truck parking, no damage to him, but broke a handle off my trailer. Everything closes, no safety issues.

Just wondering how common these little dumb things are. Or is my company regretting hiring me? Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Your company doesn't regret hiring you, because you still work there and haven't been fired.
If you decide to leave, the company can hold you hostage with a DAC report.
Another incident and you'll probably be on the street looking for work.

You’re gonna get a lot of sissies in here I suspect but take this for what it’s worth.

Starting out everything is gonna seem major and the company is gonna make a big deal out of it.
Try never to hit anything always GOAL.

trucking is an industry where the common sense approach gets thrown out the window. It’s in your best interest to avoid attention.
If you’re tearing up something on the truck odds are you’re doing something wrong.

They aren't making a huge deal about this stuff, at least not to my face. I just don't want to be the guy that they talk about. The "always something happens " guy.

Yeah. I had not a. SINGLE. ISSUE. Until about the last couple months then one right after another it seems. I probably got too confident because of it. GOAL. Gotta do it even when I I think I'm okay.
    Thanks

If you don’t make it in trucking looking into running a mixer truck. Just don’t be someone that’s soft cause those guys have abrasive personalities. That said you won’t ever hear #### about needing winched out or ruts in the dirt.

there’s no shame to GOAL I do it even pulling forward at times!

Biggest lesson i was ever taught and is why i have only one at fault on my record (stupid black pole in a dark parking lot.....CURSE YOU STUPID POLE!!!!). Use every square inch of space given and dont be afraid to pull up 50 times if needed or to just go to another spot. You may look silly but better looking silly then confirming your stupid by taking off a mirror.

That said anyone who drives long enough is eventually going to screw up. Just sit down take a deep breath and go look from on now. Take your time, there is NOTHING you will EVER haul that is worth getting into so much of a hurry you cause a wreck. If you get angry or flustered that is when its time to wait a moment cool down and GOAL. Trying to force it is how wrecks happen.

The pole wonders why, it was standing there all alone bothering no one and someone ran it over.
    Then cursed it.

They're not very unusual except for the fairing. All told, it probably took about a week for your work to cover the cost off all that damage. If it had all happened in your first three months, it might have been a different outlook, but you'd already established yourself before things started happening.

Bottom line, they've done a whole lot better with you driving the truck than they would have done by leaving it parked.
