The school I went to had new classes start every 2 months. That way, guys who STILL needed instruction at the end could pay an extra fee, and get some more personalized and more intense instructions with a single instructor.
My instructor says manual isn't for me.

When I was an instructor, i had students occassionally who did not know a manual, so I had to teach them to drive a manual and a big truck. It can be done, thry just need some extra attention behind the wheel.
Gearjammin' Penguin and Rgrace Thank this. -
I get a new truck about every 3 years, and I'm really advocating for an automatic. Never thought I'd say that! But I've witnessed what they can do and I'm impressed. A buddy of mine runs a Mack dump truck with an automatic. We just happened to be side by side at a red light one day. He was loaded, 73280lbs. I was loaded but a bit light at 75000. He had 450 HP with an auto and I had 550 HP and 13 speed manual.
He ran away from me like I was on jackstands. I've become a believer -
All I do now is fully loaded tank in stop and go big city traffic, surrounded by morons that are distracted. And I don't mind the comfort and ease of the Automatic now. -
Sorry I didn't have time to write. Thanks everyone for your advices. I have passed my road test (manual) and got my driver's license. Now it's time to find a job and decide whether I want to practice more and drive manual or automatic.
Gearjammin' Penguin, TripleSix, Dennixx and 3 others Thank this. -

I’ve been driving for 43 yrs. About 5 yrs ago my private fleet went to auto’s. I whined like a tittie baby but wouldn’t have anything but an auto now.
