Well first day of training is in the books. Went rather well. I really liked the fact that this P & D is really local and I dont have to sit on my ars all day. I get up and moving around and barely drive longer than an hour in one shot.

Went over their paper work and satellite phone which controls all of the scanning and clock hours for the day. Rather simple. Waiting on the drug screen to come back and than ill be given my employee id number than the real fun begins.

Wait until you wind up on a run with 2 1/2 hours of stem time both ways. You'll feel like you're back on the road again, except with the best of both worlds. ;)

Day 2 down. was a very easy and early day. I went in and did all of the new driver paperwork and did all of the safety, hazmat and training videos they wanted me to watch (3 hrs worth). Finally got my Employee ID number and will start my driving tomorrow. Pretty much was told that I grasp the concept and how things are and they're gonna let me take the reigns tomorrow to see how I do.

To be honest that is how I have always learned the easiest. When someone would just let me do it and just guide me when I screwed up.

There isn't much better training than on the job training. Knowledge is of little use unless one can apply it.

Yesterday and today were pretty much the same. I was give the paperwork at the beginning of shift and told to do it.... lol. Pretty cut and dry once you learn the paperwork, the company cell phone and the way they want things to be done.

    They give you phones?

    Nice.

Here, those would be subject to getting stolen.

These phones are huge blackberry type phones that you use to input all your pro #s and keep track of your clock hours.

Finished up my training on Friday. They cut me out at 1630 and said I didnt need to stay anymore, lol. They knew I was trying to milk some hours. Start at my terminal on Tuesday after the holiday. Pretty cool, been here a week and they're paying me 8 hrs for the holiday!
