@bentstrider83 Your best bet would to contact that specific terminal itself and talk to the terminal manager, or if its larger, the operations manager. Would be better in person also. HR really doesn't deal with applications as they apps are forwarded on to the hiring manager at that terminal. Which is the TM or OM.

    bentstrider83 Thanks this.

Things have been going very well over the past month or so as the planner/inbound freight manager. It has been a new experience and quite honestly, ive really enjoyed it. Also, anyone looking for a position in the Lexington KY area, we are looking for city drivers!!!!

Looks like another trip up to ABQ. See plenty of LTL's come through town, but everything and everyone local here is a lactate specialist. I'm also still waiting on Estes in Amarillo to give me a ring. Better get that suit ready for after work!!

But like I said, I HIGHLY recommend, not calling but showing up face to face and inquiring about it. it will go an extremely long way here with saia tm's.

I'm still waiting to see how the selection with Shamrock Foods for their shuttler position goes. So far, IRT hasn't been slamming me with dairy pickup's thanks to enough drivers being on night shift, freeing me up to shuttle. But that could all change at the drop of a hat. As far as Estes goes, Denver linehaul hasn't given me a word yet, and Amarillo just sent me another one of those punk---, canned emails.

Been a couple months and I have been busy. I am still managing our dock, planning our freight and driving. As a matter of fact they just flew me up to Harrisburg, PA to take the driver trainers course so I can train our new guys. I will also be flying to Dallas for the SMITH trainer course here soon as well.

Still running about 40-45 hours minimum and freight has been treating us good. I have taken a liking to the management opportunity that I have been given and have started back to college in pursuit of a Bachelors degree in business management, with a certificate in operations.

Hoping to be moving up to a full time salaried dock supervisor within the next couple years. Thank looking planning on a regional safety or operations manager position within the 5-10 yrs.

I don't think I will be leaving Saia for quite awhile unless a golden goose egg is found.

Been quite a few months and I hope that you all are doing well. It has been a crazy few months. I have since still been running the docks here in Lexington, Ky. I have been doing all of the freight planning and setting myself up to progress my career into another aspect within the company. I hope to hear back about this position within the next month and then I can elaborate more.

Besides that a few things new here at Saia. We have started rolling in a lot of brand new equipment. The things I don't like is the Freightliners. They have extremely low front bumpers and one bump and I can see a lot of them being ripped off. the trailers are nice. Everyone loves a new trailer!

We have opened all kinds of new terminals in the NE since I have last posted. We now (if my memory serves me right) have about 7 terminals with the newest being in Scranton, PA. They plan on opening another 4 terminals this year in the northeast.

Great thread @lcfd15 ! I’m enjoying all of the p&d info. I would love to do that and get 40/45 hours a week. Unfortunately, my introduction to ltl will probably be linehaul bc I need to work 60+ to support the young family. When they go to school and my wife goes back to work maybe I could switch to p&d.
