Not sure if you've been following the mercer thread but I help you best I can. If you don't have a trailer then your prob gonna have to wait until November before you get a orientation. If you do have a trailer then that's a plus call today and follow up and let them pull your file and do the verifications then you can start prob soon after they complete your file. Good luck

It took me 2.5 weeks from the time I filled out the app until I pulled into orientation. Fill it out then give them 24 hours. If they haven't called in 24 hours, call and tell them you were wondering if someone had the chance to look at your app. I wouldn't just wait on them to call you back.

Does your husband have his own Truck or is a lease truck? If he has his own then it will speed up the process. If it's a L/P or something and he'll have to get a truck from quality then he may be SOL right now.

I got in the habit when I was pulling a reefer, since we didn't do any of the loading/unloading. I flag it as loading or unloading, but I don't log more than 5 or 6 minutes. I'm not saying that is correct or legal, but I have not had DOT or the log department ever say anything to me, here or anywhere else.

Thank you!! Yes he has his own truck but not trailer. He'd have to lease to purchase from them.
Yes Taylor I've been reading the mercer threads that's why he has chosen to try them out. He was at the CRST Malone orientation and found out after the first day of it that it wasn't anywhere near what the recruiter said it was and decided late last night to opt out. So filled out an app for mercer...from what I've read and heard of mercer it's a better deal all the way around! Thanks again guys!

They are. I've been reading the thread since 2012 and finally got me a truck back in April. I'm already a laid back guy so this is a good fit so far. If you guys can try and get a trailer through outside financing. Great Dane here I. Orlando was ready Lease me a trailer for I believe $3500 up front and monthly was around $500-$600 I can't remember. But I waited a little while longer and sure enough mercer called. It took 4 weeks from when my app was approved. Now they are saying 2-3 months so unless you could wait that long I'd get a trailer elsewhere.

That's good but I don't think we can wait that long. Others are saying not having your own trailer doesn't slow the process down but not having your own truck does and we have that. We don't have great credit so getting one ourselves isn't an option, he'd have to get one through a company he goes with. I'm not sure why it took so long for you to get through. That's not what I wanted to hear. Lol Bulletproof just started with them with no trailer in August and waited only 2.5 weeks. Who knows. We just have to do something like soon is all I know!!

We just got approved and were told 4 weeks for a trailer. We are leasing a truck, but the recruiter said it won't slow him down because of his experience.

It's been 6 weeks now for me waiting on a trailer. Just spoke with recruiter and he says it's slow getting them in for some reason

Yeah, it really sucks. We are holding out for now, but if the end of the four weeks comes and there is no trailer for him yet, we'll probably move on. Don't want to overstay the welcome with his current boss. She's been great so far, but they've already got someone to take the truck my husband is driving, so in order to keep the new guy, my husband has to go. His two week notice is already up, so now he's just working on borrowed time.

Luckily we've already got something else lined up. Just waiting to see how this all plays out...
