Made it to the receiver with 4 minutes left on my 8hr clock. Untarped, rolled straps up, and u loaded in an hour and a half. Got to the truck stop in Calvert city KY with 14 minutes left on my 14. I cut it close today.
Side story number 1: do not go around the "road closed" signs in Lebanon Illinois. The nice officers do not appreciate that. He was very nice and I explained where I was going and he told me how to get there. I never saw the detour signs. Very nice person to deal with and he understood.
Side story number 2: untarping in 35mph wind isn't as fun as it sounds. I'm 6ft and weigh 200 pounds and it was throwing me around like a rag doll. My tarps must have went to church on the way down because they were pretty holy. I found some stuff to pick up later this week so I'm heading home in the morning. I need to lay these tarps out at the house and clean them up and patch all of the holes. Even with going home tomorrow, I've still doubled my money from the last company I was at so I'm fine with missing out on money for the rest of the week.
Another side note, wtf is a "nuke endorsement"? Is that what I'm thinking? I saw a load for a flat coming out of GA going to PA. $3.09 a mile on 6xx miles paying $1900. I need one of these endorsements. -
If that's what it sounds like, there are only about 15 companies licensed to haul nuclear as well as the driver is required to have a Top Secret security clearance. I was looking at getting into it a few years ago with RnR.

Not much too report. I've been home since wednesday. Loaded Friday morning an hour from my house and came back home with it. Delivers in Charlotte Monday morning. I am very proud of my tarp job. It didn't move an inch on the way home and almost looks like it was painted on. I'm starting to get the hang of tarping. I will start updating again next week when I get on the road.
playamwj12, TaylorMade407 and whoopNride Thank this.
