Jimmy, After this period of time with Prime, how do you feel about pay, miles and general working conditions with the co and mgt co-workers (dispatch...)???

Is this the "right" company if someone is starting their first job? Any other company suggestions?

    Really hard question to answer.

Prime me has a good training program. Most of the hole-in-the-wall training schools will teach you to drive a truck, that being the basic skills required to pass the CDL exam. Some of these schools offer Job placement assistance. Not all guarantee a job after you pass.

With prime you get not only the skills to pass the CDL test, you also Learn some of the tribal knowledge in truck driving. That being going in and out of shippers and receivers. You learn the tasks if fueling the truck and scaling your loads.

with schools you learn to drive a truck, with companies that have a training dept you learn to be a truck driver. Yes, there is a difference between the two.

what up yall, waiting on recruiter to get ahold of me. im sure there busy its been a week. i think im 90% decided on PRIME. i think you just have to jump in head first and just do it. my biggest worry after watching this boneheads video is a decent trainer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdQOF4Oltu8 This guy never went back cause Prime didn't hold his hand and call him first to come back. doesn't make sense . Appreciate the thread

Good info. That's the hardest thing trying to get a good trainer and getting the most of the training

Got some disappointing news from prime recruiter. They said they won't hire me cause had periods of unemployed in last 3 years. Are all company's like that. Before that I had a job for 8 years straight as a home depot store manager. after that got paid cash to help friend open restaurant. on aplication i put down the owner sold restaurant and she asked me how does she verify. told her i got paid cash. she said that wont work needs to be verified. after the restaurant i went to a wharehouse and now drive cdl B class. wtf do i do now. is that right? would have it been better if i said i was just unemployed for that period working at restaurant for cash???
