Took a break from trucking since 2023 and got in great health, back down to wearing 32 inch jeans again and have started looking to get back to driving. First places I applied at would not even call me back so I ordered my psp and was floored to see all these crashes on the thing. I had forgotten that they include everything in the last five years whether they are at fault or not.
Now I got to explain the details to every single company of how down in Birmingham I got involved in a four car pileup where I was sitting at a red light when a fourth car rammed the three cars behind me at full speed and pushed the one behind me up under the trailer. Lots of injuries and tow aways listed on that one.
Or that time in Wichita Falls a car pulls out of the gas station along 287 and plows right into the side of my tailer as I was passing.
Then there was that time in Colorado I was stopped at a red left turn arrow and the truck in the lane to my right starts going on his green light and drags his trailer across the front of my truck while I was still stopped.
Thank God for my dashcam all those times to keep me from getting any tickets, ha but now I think I may as well stay out of trucking for another few years till they all drop off the record. But by then I would likely have to start all over with going to the cr england driving school again!
My psp is trashed! Can I get hired anywhere?

It bothers me when I read a news article about someone killed in an accident with a semi truck, when they are at fault.
The reaction is always’thoughts and prayers’ for the deceased.
Knowing 2 drivers personally that have been through it, nobody gives a thought to how it affects the driver that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Let alone how it affects their ability to put bread on their table.dunchues, Flat Earth Trucker, TruckDriver87 and 10 others Thank this. -
People locally still call him a murderer and use him as an example of why trucks need more regulation since if the trucker had been paying attention he would have never murdered that "poor boy" after the teens mom lambasted him to anyone who would listen. So he is basically unhireable locally and his own rig was down for almost 4 months being repaired besides leading to a lot of financial hardship.
Fact of the matter is between the actual pigs on the road and the grinning billboard human trash like the hammer pushing for nuclear judgements. We are seen as less then human by many "normal" people any.oredunchues, Rookie driver 956, Flat Earth Trucker and 14 others Thank this. -
If you drive a truck, understand that you are public enemy number one. No matter how safe you drive, in an accident expect to be sued.dunchues, Rookie driver 956, Flat Earth Trucker and 13 others Thank this. -
Rule #1.
It's always the truckers fault.
We can thanks csa for that. Unless they got rid of that BS.
Anyone remember the jb hunt driver that was blamed for a bridge collapse? The bridge was under construction and he just happened to be in the area at the time it collapsed. Just minding his own business.Rookie driver 956, Deere hunter and blairandgretchen Thank this. -

Knew a guy that hit a newlywed couple head on that swerved across the yellow lane on a windy mountain curve. He didn’t make it back into a truck for nearly six months. Still isn’t the same.

People that haul a lot of big oversize stuff will know this for sure. Your Pilot Car sees all kinds of crap all day long that you miss. Man that car almost hit you. That idiot came off that ramp almost ran into your load. I like the cars on the on-ramp that are at least a football field in front of you but slam on their brakes and stop when you're about 18 feet wide. Oh yes, I pray every day for protection and safety for me and everyone around me. And most days wonder why do we do this? Be safe out there drivers and stay alert.

Mine was trashed at one point but it really made no difference at all.
Just explain the events and let it roll.
Good luck!Sons Hero, blairandgretchen and Deere hunter Thank this.
