He could always be a Bundle Boy, AKA Package Car Driver. Many places across the country are hiring street hires in to package. They make the same hourly pay as Feeder Drivers pulling single trailers and it’s all day work. If they have one seniority list for package and Feeder he could stay in package until he has enough whiskers to get a decent Feeder job.

That sucks. Move West to one of many cities and they can’t get enough people. We have a good friend who was a teacher who got burned out on teaching. She hired in full time off the street at 40 something and she loves package. They really have loosened up at UPS compared to back in the day. First it was the beard and now they get away with about anything if they show up.Texas_hwy_287 and McUzi Thank this.

I've been told the same. With all that's going on, going west from Mass would end me up in Dallas to be close to MD Anderson Cancer Center.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this.

I don’t have direct knowledge of Texas but I do know several locations in Ky will hire you off the street. I have a friend who is married to a center manager I will see if he knows anything.McUzi and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

Thats ok, relocating anywhere is a far off prospect in the horizon for a while. I could move tomorrow but I can't take my son away from such an amazing medical environment that he's in now.Texas_hwy_287, Banker and Old_n_gray Thank this.

I have a lady friend that runs linehaul for Saia. She is contributing 10% of her gross to her company 401K and getting a 9% match from SAIA. They contribute 6% and match the other 3%. She puts another 5% of her gross into a Roth IRA. She will be sitting nice at retirement time.Northeast Hillbilly Thanks this.

Im still with saia, been about a year, and that’s the first I’m hearing of such a good retirement match lol as far as I know Saia gives 50% of 6%. I’ve never heard of what your friend is gettingjmz and Northeast Hillbilly Thank this.
