Hello all. I bought a six pack back in September, one went bad last week, and the injector was warrantied. The reason it was removed, It was getting a 325 code for an open injector on a cummins n14.
After a week with the replacement injector,, Truck started sputtering and eventually 325 code came back, along with a sputter (either compression or fuel pressure) and with fuel in the oil.

I will upload a video shortly. Thank you.

Those N-14 are famous for having the injector harness go bad also
blairandgretchen, Bean Jr., Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
The code your getting is logged because of an electronic malfunction. I would be looking into the jumpers, then main harness.
Could also turn in to ECM related. I've replaced more N14 ECM's than 60 series Detroits.
And the sad fact, Cummins N14 reman injectors just don't lastW923, Rideandrepair, Last Call and 1 other person Thank this. -
There's (RXand PX?) different grades of reman injectors too - I've known of some nightmare replacement stories on reman squirters.Last Call Thanks this. -
I took everything apart today. The pigtail completely tore off. The retainer bolt came loose. It was cradled between a valve spring and a push tube. After dozens of injector swaps on these engines this is the first time it's ever happened to me. I'm still finding the cause of that bolt coming lose.
While the push tubes and rocker arms and valve springs looked good. I dropped the retainer plate that holds the injector down the side of the block.
I dont know whether to remove the cam follower or just drop the pan to fish out all the pieces.
Truck was stopped a mile or who from incident. Still had good oil pressure, but was smoking badly.
Needless to say. I feel very Grimm right now. My last N14 threw the No6 injector tube down the side of the block and left me a new window. This could have done the same or maybe it was starting to.Attached Files:

I accidentally dropped it down bellow. I do have a good magnet, an endoscope that will be trying to fish it out as soon as the weather clears up.IH9300SBA Thanks this. -
Is the most common failure from the electrical or mechanical side, of the injector?
IH9300SBA Thanks this. -
Electrical in my experience
mile marker 27 and IH9300SBA Thank this. -
