On I 77? A few years ago traffic was backed out onto the interstate and another driver plowed into another rig, killing the driver of the 2nd rig. After that, the state of NC finally put sensors in the ramp that trip a sensor to close the scale.
My rule of thumb, if traffic is backed out onto the travel lanes of the interstate and the scale is still open, I'm not stopping. They can chase me down if they want, but not putting myself or anyone else at risk.

North Carolina in my opinion has put there weigh stations on the east side in really high volume traffic area's. I never understood why they put a scale house going into Mecklenburg county on I85 north before I-485. Even though they made a new weigh station on I-85 a little further south of Mecklenburg county its still next to a MAJOR highway interchange. US74 and I85 in Kings Mountain. Recently last month heading southbound. I saw a three semi truck wreck that happened just before you get to the weigh station. When I got to the receiver the guard told me that ever since they put that weigh station in that location it has been havoc. I recently noticed that they've started adding weigh in motion signs like Louisiana, Georgia, and Nebraska are doing where basically if you're not overweight or over axle than you can bypass on the southbound side of the Mecklenburg county scale. So far i don't think its going to work because of the interchange of I-485 lanes end as soon as you get off the ramp for I-85 south which may cause more accidents just to get on the weigh in motion scale pads.

XPO ? Maybe the driver can't read english...

I see them everyday around Miami. Here drivers speak spanish to communicate with dispatchers and the warehousing workers. Its a third world called Little Havana,
