I'm in the same boat. I'm interested in LTL also. Waiting to hear back from ABF or YRC. At the moment I'm with USA Truck Inc. Not interested in OTR, but a lot of companies are requesting experience, 2
which sucks. Good luck!!

I also found it is better with smaller companies to knock on the door in person. I found a guy that has 4 trucks, Western Stars, he told me to put myself through CDL school, and get 6 months behind the wheel with anyone. He told me to call him every 2-3 months, he has a driver he knows is close to retiring and he would be more than happy to hire me, he pays 27% of the load, not by the mile, and refuses to take low paying loads. He even took me for a delivery in St George and back, and was an all around great guy. Even told me if I needed some backing skills time to call him, and he would help me out in the yard. I found a few others that had experience listed, but after talking to the DM said they waive it if they feel you can handle learning quickly and have some common sense.
