Have a question.
My company I am leased to have a new policy requiring owner ops to have a workman's comp policy. They say there insurance policy requiring us too. There's is 137$ a month. I do not have employees just myself.
I also have a major insurance price jump through them as well from 180 to 237$ a month because of all the accidents on there insurance. I also pay roughly 258$ on insurance liability pulling there trailer now a trip.
$500+ a month on insurance and workman's comp really affects the monthly outcome. This is for a 25k truck. I am at 78% and if I get my own trailer it is I think 86%?
Second year owner operator. Run west coast 2-3 trips a month rest at home with my family.
Is there cheaper insurance? There is greatwide insurance which I know is the worse of the worse cover companies that has bad tract records.
And forgot to mention i pay for bobtail on a 1980 k100c as well for a loan purpose. So it would be two semis on insurance one driver
Need advice owner op required to have workman's comp
