I have a 1990 Kenworth K 100 E it has a cummins 855 big cam in it. The problem I have is that the engine does not have the data plate on it. I know the engines have had some work on it so I don’t know if that’s why they removed it or not, but my question is what other markings on the engine that can tell me what size engine
Need help identifying engine

Clean the engine off as best you can. I’ve seen data plates, and decals in all sorts of places, front, rear, left side, right side, top cover, the only place I personally have not seen one is the oil pan, but maybe someday?

bjytech, blairandgretchen, W923 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The serial number will tell you what the engine started it’s life as….
But, the tag on top the pump will have another set of numbers, this will tell you what the fuel code is on the pump, in other words it tells you what hp the pump is calibrated for. Hope this helps….
bjytech, blairandgretchen and tarvarre Thank this. -
I’ve seen pumps without a tag, and the fuel code is stamped into the housing where the tag should be….
tarvarre Thanks this. -
OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.
