Here is a start You can track down more posts by doing a search Good luck http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...t/30761-my-experience-with-crst-not-good.html
CRST-Stay away if possible, you are not considered human, you are considered to be a steering wheel holder, some kind of a pimple on the back of an less than an animal, Be extremely weary of their lease purchase plan, you will loose, their maintenance program will cost you up the ying yang, (between 12cents 1st yr, 11cents 2nd yr and 10cents 3rd yr pays only minor maintenance 3rd yr for each mile the truck runs, calculated off of the ECM) and I think that included an oil change every 34,000 miles and the last of the 3 year lease they do not have to repair your truck if you have a major repair, the 3rd year of the 3 yr lease, you pay an immense amount of money for a very minor maintenance program, in the 3rd yr, if you don't have the money to pay for the repair they have the option and most likely will put you in another truck that has a new 3yr lease payment, all the money you put in the other truck is gone, good news though, if you we're lucky enough to save the money for the repair then you could repair the truck or just out right pay off the balance of the truck. The trainers alot of them could use some training themselves, a very large percent of them defiantly are nothing to brag about! If you don't have any other choices, go to work there you will most likely make very poor wages, if you are a company driver you will most likely be forced to run team. Oh Yes, They also started charging the lease operators a weekly fee for the privilege of being a trainer, I believe it is around $125 per wk, and of course they make sure you sign a waiver stating that you would not sue CRST or any of their employee's if the trainee happens to get in an accident an severely injures you! There is alot more, but I'm tire of writing!
Look, other than the team driving and the pay, they teach you how to drive a truck and give you 8 months to perfect it for some other company who will let you solo and pay you better.....deal or move on. It's not rocket science and as long as you dont go expecting to make money or drive solo, you won't be disappointed.
they sent me to 3 weeks local community college, houston i already had my cdl and they still ended up trying to get 4 grand other companies like schnieder only want 500 if you got your cdl on your own the whole time i was in the local houston school they told me i would get my own truck after 6 weeks of driving for them that was a lie after the trip to oaklahoma city i was told that no one gets their own truck they were total ######## i bought a bussticket home
This is a tricky question as you can see from the information from the above and also from other posts on this site. The best advice is to exhaust all other options before you decide to go to them. The industry itself is problematic especially for the new drivers needing and wanting to learn. Do you have any driving record problems or background problems that would keep the other co.s from accepting you? This co. is known for taking people that the other co.s will not. If you do not have any of these problems look elsewhere first. For your own benefit if you can, obtain your CDL on your own and you will be more marketable to the industry. Also start out with better pay. If you need more info respond on this thread and people here would be glad to help.
find another company.i worked for them for 3 long monthes.was the worst experience of my life.my pay was wrong every week, team driving stinks, terminals are dirty, and managment is very unorganized.they are one of the worse companies out there.good luck
Look I'de stay away my best friend went there they trained him but come graduation time when everyone else was getting there dispatches and trainers he didnt get one so he asked whats up and they told him he was 43 miles out of there operation border so they tryed sticking him with the school cost no other company would take him cause its only a 2 week class so what he had to do was come to NC to his moms house change his cdl over call them and run from NC when his wife and daughter lived in Minnesotta he only got home a total of 20 days out of his 8 months he was only getting 29 cents a mile there are better companies with training out there so I'de say do some research I'm looking into Millis Transfer they seem to have a good program I've read all over this forum about Millis and have seen nothing but good things
