Good morning all..I am hoping to find information regarding the instructing/training of spouses at Prime. I plan on going on the road with the hubby in early April. He will be my instructor and then trainer. I am curious as to how the pay for instructors and trainers may differ if you are dealing with a spouse vs. another student/trainee? Can't seem to find any info anywhere. Any input would be appreciated. I have already been approved for Prime's CDL school, had the DOT physical and permit from here in Colorado and am ready to roll!
Need info on Prime spouse instructing/training

As far as I know, there isn't any difference for spouses vs any other student. I certainly haven't heard anyone grousing about it!
Good luck!MrsDeputyDog Thanks this. -
I think the only difference I heard about while in orientation was a spouse does not qualify for the $200 advance while driving with a permit. Only came up as sort of a joke as we had a married couple doing just that in our class.

Good luck on the training part... I've heard it can be a very stressful on the relationship when spouses train their partners. I've met quite a few teams where the husband hand picked trainers because they refused to train their wife. -
Last I knew, the differences for spouses training spouses are:
A. No 1 year contract
B. No $200 weekly advance
C. Instructing spouse only gets paid for first week of instruction, but they will get the bonuses for passing CDL test and 6/12 months.Last edited: Jan 31, 2011
