Trying not to get into too much detail here, but running into an unusual problem in finding a job.

    A little background:

    • Started in trucking June 2018. Went with a mega carrier and their in house training program. Got my CDL's 08/06.

    • One year obligatory work contract in exchange for training. Got shortened to 9 months because I'm a veteran.

    • Completed training (40,000 miles) with trainer, but didn't upgrade, as I decided to obtain training and experience with Winter Traiing.

    • 2/18 in accident. I wasn't driving, off duty in sleeper. Received injury, which sidelined me on Workman's Comp approximately 6 months.

    • Didn't have the best of trainers. But I sucked it up and made the best of it. Figured I'd complete Winter ❄️ training, go back to up grade, and request a "finishing trainer". Biggest thing is I've received practically zero training with backing up.

    • Completed physical and vocational rehab, yada ~ yada. Received a final medical assessment from MD, with listed restrictions, limitations, etc. Primary one being max lifting = 40 lbs.

    • Clean driving record, no points, no accidents, no tickets, no preventable or non preventables. Clean DAC. 6 month safety award from company I was with. No drug screen refusals, tested positive etc. No disciplinary issues, no refused loads or abandoned loads.

    • Completed 9 month contractual obligation. Decided to seek other opportunities? Resigned. Company reported me on my DAC as, " Resigned, no accidents, no incidents"

    Here's the issue:

I'm "un-hire-able" as the companies I've applied to want a medical release with NO RESTRICTIONS or LIMTATIONS etc.

Contantaced MD. Response I received was as follows: (From reply email)

"You will need to bring in or fax a return to work form that we can fill out from your current employer. Our fax number is 251-410-3752. You can make it attention to Caitlin or myself, Micayla. If you have any other questions, you can respond via email or call our main number 251-410-3600 and ask to speak with someone in the forms department."

Thing is? I no longer have a current employer? Spoke with recruiters at companies and they started they couldn't help; my retaking DOT physical is a no~go (My current DOT MED Card is good through July of next year)

Any suggestions as to potential employers whose hiring zone includes Mississippi would be appreciated. I've experience with:

    • Reefer
    • Dry Van
    • Class A with eyeglass and automatic transmission restriction. Tanker endorsement, but no experience.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions would be GREATELY APPREIATED. I'm pretty much open to any and all suggestions?

Thanks for taking your time to read and respond.

Why not apply to company and dont mention the accident or past medical issue?

@Chintown may have suggestions for you.

Where are you based? Do you have endorsements like Hazmat, tanker, doubles and triples, etc. Do you have a TWIC card?

If you don't have the above mentioned endorsements or TWIC card I suggest you get them. They increase your value as a driver.

Yeah, don't go into any details about anything unless it's unavoidable.
Try Flat Creek Transportation in Kinston, Alabama.
Ask if they have no-touch freight.
Submit the online "Contact Us" form before calling.

I've a TWIC card and then I don't', in when i was MedEvac from the back of the truck, i was in a pair of shorts, t-shirt. Most of my belongings were left on the truck. One of them being my TWIC card, so i got to spend $60 for a replacement.

I've repeatedly asked the company to send belongings, ...........

    Crickets

I've a tanker endorsement, no experience Guess i need to step up my game and get the rest.

The companies I've applied to are:

    CFI ~ No Go

    National Carriers ~ No Go

Panther Transportation ~ Tentatively a Go, but not heard from any Fleet Owners offering a job. 1099, the possibility of having to sign a contract? Three axle box truck, team driving jig

I think Magnum Ltd. is auto's. Ask about no touch freight. I think some loads may be driver touch.
