Looking for new company that pays. Anything over $70,000 a year. But I need more than 34 hrs for my resets, like 3 days each time. Martin, Legend, and a few others say no, 34 only. I’m 68, in great health, no chronic medical issues, no meds, not overweight. Six yrs on the road, accident free- all endorsements. Western 11 only. (Not asking for much am I? ) Thanks for any help

    Jarhed1964 and austinmike Thank this.

While we are at it, can anyone recommend a company where I can get over 100K a year, but only work 2 days a month?

I'm new and know very little...but... 3 years in and working for a 4 truck company local to my house. Looking to hit 75k this year. (25% driver but no company medical ins) if I wanted your schedule I know they'd accommodate. I stay out 4-6 weeks and home 3-7 days depending on my needs and cooperation with maintenance and etc on truck/trailer. It's really a drivers market. Go look at indeed and Craigslist.

Run shuttles for food service. Maybe able to get 4 day work week. Most food and beverage guys where I’m at work 4 days a week.

Find a company that slip-seats and see if they can get you home every one to two weeks or however long you want to stay out. Don't run your hours out every day to avoid resetting on the road. Then you can report back whenever you want and they issue a new truck to you. That's probably the only way you're going to get what you're looking for without buying your own truck. Try TNI or CTI.

Contact companies and tell them you only available 5 days a week, thats it thats all. Drivers are in demand, you have to negotiate unless you working for a bottom feeder company. 34 hour reset is total BS. Minimum 60 hours reset.

Are you talking about only getting a 34 hour reset at home? Or you want 3 days of sitting while on the road?

How often are you needing a 34 reset (3 days off)
I’m asking because sometimes I can go a month without being forced to take a 34.

If you’re needing a reset every 5 days it’ll be tough finding something that’ll work.

Coffey and Bean Jr. Thank this.
