Friend of mine who has about 1 year and 10 months experience had 2 accidents in February. First he backed on to a car hauler at a TA or Loves negligible damage. The second however was a jackknife around flint due to snowy road, now there was no ticket for the accident but there was a report made so it is on his record. He was able to find somebody to hire him however its one of those 1099 companies I am really trying to find something a bit better for him. If anybody knows of any company that might take a shot on him please let me know.
If not, however, how long would you recommend he keep his head down and just bite the bullet until he is able to apply for something better?
Need some help for a friend of mine.

I'm a bit confused. The jackknife shows up on a MVR ? Sure there was no citation?
Has he applied anywhere?KW Cajun Thanks this. -
If he's using your Mississippi address, that's a plus because it puts him in the hiring area for many companies.
Submit some online applications then wait a few days before any follow up phone calls. This gives the company time to look over the application.
Paschall Truck Lines
Navajo Express
Benny Whitehead Trucking
Ard Trucking Company
Big-M Transportation
Carolina Cargo - this company gets a bad rap, but they do come to the rescue for drivers that need a second chance. Make a little over $800.00 a week. They do West Coast trunarounds and you get 5 days off after 3 turns.
If no online application on the website, then call & email a request for a job. -
First, tell your 'friend' that the jacknife wasn't due to a snowy road. It's really due to driving too fast for conditions or another driver error.
It's not good driver judgement to "blame it on the snow".
Your description of details and results of each accident are a bit confusing.
It appears the TA/Loves accident was a parking lot accident with no tickets issued, but did have a police accident report made. Correct?
Then it's unclear if the Flint jackknife was accompanied by him striking another vehicle(s), or not?
Was an accident report made and/or was he given a ticket for this event? Typically nearly all jackknifes get ticketed.
I agree with the others that the backing incident is not normally any biggie, but unclear of the extent of the Flint, MI jackknife event.LGarrison and MZdanowicz Thank this. -
Your "friend" needs to understand that he had 2 accidents in a month's time. Whether or not they're reported by DOT/MVR or not, they're on his DAC report. By the way, if your "friend" had to be towed, it was a DOT reportable accident and is on his PSP. Might as well stay where you, err, he is and be thankful to be employed.
