Need some immediate help about hazmat expiration/renewal

As I understand, the endorsement is good till the expiration on the CDL b.

My wife is trying to argue with me on this, but I'm 99% sure I'm right.

Where does the 7-18-14 date appear, or come from? If that was just the date you were TSA approved, then I think you're OK.

 

you have the endorsement, it expires in December, you are good. When you renew, you will have to do the background check again...

What if I already hold an HME and just need to renew it? Regulations require that you complete an HME STA application and submit fingerprints each time you apply for a new or renewed HME.

 

Yes they send the renewal notice to your address on your CDL, about 90 days before it expires, and then again at 60 days...

 

From the Ohio DOT website,

Security Threat Assessment Completed In Prior State:
Security Threat Assessments are valid for five years from the date completed through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will accept your Security Threat Assessment that was completed in your previous state as long as it remains valid one full year from the date of your next birthday. The commercial driver license (CDL) issued will expire on the CDL holder's birthday, in the year the Security Threat Assessment expires, up to a four-year expiration date.



So your fingerprints expire this year, and your CDL HME will also expire this year ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.
