Hi, I have a question? I am a newbie trucker. I just graduated a few days ago, and I've barely passed my CDL (within the basic alloted points). I went to orientation with a company that I later found out takes 20 people and only 8 survive. I was one of the ones sent home because I wasnt polished enough in my driving.
Since I am not working, I do not have the time or money to play games with these type of employers. Does anyone know of trucking companies that will give a barely passer a leg up? I just want to get my foot in the door.
Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Kolorado,
Thank you much for the Stevens suggestion.
I don't want to mention the company, because the company is a really good company to work for, and I don't want to slander them.
However, because of my current skill level, I was not a fit form them. They are very particular of who they want to take on, and who they are willing to train. This is not what the recruiter told me, and I learned the hard way. Paid orientations are now a red flag for me. -
Try these:
James H. Clark & Son
Carolina Cargo - probably the easiest to get on with. Run hard and run legal coast-to-coast. Make about $800.00 weekly from what their drivers post.
DSW Trucking - they're in Phoenix
Danny Herman Trucking -
The main thing is you have your CDL. What parts on the test gave you issues? What gave you problems at the company? Try and stay away from the trainers who sleep while you drive and the teaming students companies. Almost all orientations pay you just some more than none.
Sneakerfix Thanks this.
