I have paid my dues to em by dealing with em. Anything more is icing on the cake to them. And that ain't gonna happen.

Just like the people you have met, some companies are better than others. Western Express is definitely not the worst out there, but they are a long way from being one of the better companies to work for.

As for road boredom? I suggest either satellite radio, or audiobooks. I use both, depending on road conditions, my condition, and where and when I am driving.

Audiobooks are great in daylight hours, good weather, on interstates, with little or no traffic.

Start throwing in driving complications, and I switch to satellite radio news or music.

True that. I find myself frequently listening to music on YouTube. Or just listening to the clowns on the CB. That really makes for a laugh at times.

I cannot listen to most CB chatter without wanting to either yell at the drivers or throw the radio out the window.

Part of that is that I was a MOS 31F in the Army National Guard, and I was taught how to properly use a PTT (Push To Talk) radio system.

Another part of my issues with CB chatter is that I really dislike slapstick humor, or listening to people chatter on about things that they are obviously completely ignorant about.

Finally, I really don't like turning on the CB just to listen to two road warriors dick-jousting in an insult contest.

The CB might be a useful tool, but I put mine back in storage because it puts me on the edge of road rage almost every time I turned it on.

Normally, mine stays off until the weather turns bad or I come across bad traffic.

It's good that you did that. I suppose one of the reasons guys would not have their equipment fixed was due to being on hold for so long with breakdown. It was common for me to be on hold for an hour. I hated that.

Have things in that arena improved for you guys?

6 months...I'm surprised you're not a trainer! At least you wouldn't be alone.

Edit to add: I forgot sarcasm doesn't translate to the internet....

Try some old time Jeff Foxworthy. Anyone remember him?

If you are going to laugh today, make it really good. So many others locked in their own minds...
