Congrats on your new job. I know you will like driving. I did and I regretted getting away from it. That is why I am getting back in and like everything you have to start at the bottom.

You do realize all those straight trucks are defective? You go and back one of those up to a door. Looking in the mirrors. Turn the wheel. They all go the wrong way! Defective! Defective I tell ya! Defective!

Seriously....That tanker terminal of Schneiders is just down the road from where I grew up. Bay Area Blvd. didn't go that far when I grew up. In fact, it was originally named Clear Lake City Blvd. They changed it pretty quick. Now CLC Blvd. is someplace else in CLC.

OTR will take care of that for you. Usually in about 3-4 months. Less if your wife is under 40. A little longer if she's over 40.

    Why?
OTR is a whole 'nuther world. It isn't 'By Honey... see you tonight'.

The sad part is people failing to remove those rose colored glasses before getting into it.

Only truckers I've ever known to keep a marriage together OTR are either married to someone they hate and also hates them, or are old as dirt and really religious and afraid of divorce (think it is a sin), or are a foreigner/married a foreigner.

And you for sure ain't being any kind of parent working OTR. Well, maybe a bad one.

God forbid you marry some young girl in your 20s and try to get into trucking. That ####'s over before you make it out of orientation. And probably rightfully so. Only a complete ####ing idiot would try and make it as a new driver in the current job market.

    ####'s hopeless.

I'm fully endorsed, nothing on PSP or MVR, nearly a decade of experience and putting out feelers atm. Waitlists for hazmat jobs at <$25/hr. OTR companies paying above .50cpm aren't hiring in my area. I've made the decision to call it quits and hang up the keys. I'll take a mcjob and give up my dreams of making it out of the peasant class. Think I'll take up the spirits and the devil's lettuce to numb myself like everyone else does now. Follow the herd and all that.
