Try Schnieder, US Express, Swift, any and every company. It doesn't have to be Illinois based or nearby. They will provide you transportation to get you where you need to be.

wow ...
We have been for the last 11 months and will continue to have too much capacity and too many drivers. It is a carrier's employment market, and it won't change. I thought it would be ending in 3Q,25 but it will not end until 2026.
Here is why.
The carriers are controlled by the insurance companies, they control everything about drivers and truck operation.
Being >400lbs means you are 50-60% at high risk of having a medical emergency while driving a truck - source my insurance underwriter.
This also means that you also have an 80% higher risk of becoming deceased in an accident.
This is beside other issues that I won't get into about fat drivers.
Now that said, the best solution is to lose weight because it isn't about YOU, it is about the safety of others around you.
By the way I think back in 2012 there was a horrific accident in your state, the driver was so sick he passed out and ran into a bunch of cars, he was dead at the scene and they had one hell of a time getting him out of the truck - he was almost 450lbs according to the police report.
I would never have done that, you should have stayed where you were at.
Never change jobs if it costs you money.
SO all of that said, I am going to offer you some really good advice and at least look into it.
I would go to my nearest FedEx Freight or UPS Freight location, fill out the app, put down everything honestly
Apply for being on the Dock, you want to be on the dock.
These jobs usually start out ~$20, UPS is a union shop which will give you a lot of benefits.
Then go to the doc, and lose weight. Dock work will give you the exersize that you do need.
You will eventually asked to drive, they will put you through a refresher course and you will end up in a truck but ...
It is up to you because right now your chances to find stable employment driving is <10%born&raisedintheusa, Mooseontheloose, firemedic2816 and 2 others Thank this. -

Search for fedex jobs on Craigslist nationwide. They hire thru contractors. Some contractors will take drivers with no experience. I know I saw at least one job posting recently for fedex team that hired with no experience. Found it on Craigslist. I don’t remember which city.

Melton Truck Lines hired me straight out of school. flew me to their main terminal, paid orientation and training and all. idk about your weight though but you should try. and if you NEED money, wash some dishes. sorry to tell you on repeat but for yourself as well as your job lose the weight, and also don't quit everything you have expecting x amount of pay or whatever you don't really need anyone to tell you that's foolish do you
