Last week I passed my CDL class A writen exams. I now have the CDL Permit.
I studied at home for two weeks.
The Trucking companies I called will not except to train me because l only had my drivers license for 5 months. Is their any companions that will train me or Schools?
I live in Houston, MO area.
I need work and training...dont mine paying my dues to gain experience.
How can I best use my Permit right now?
I have a clean driving record.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Most mega companies will have trucking schools, and will send you out with a trainer for 4-8 weeks. After you’re complete, you can go solo. Keep in mind that these companies will want you to go OTR. It typically takes time before you can do regional, dedicated, or local. Maybe someone knows of a local company that trains newbies.

There is a list of trucking company forums on this site. You probably want to familiarize yourself with them, and check out what others have to say about those companies.

You can do OTR for 6 months, and then find a local job. Give that local company a year, and then move to a better paying local company.

The best thing you can do with your permit is to go to a CDL course to get your actual license. A lot of community colleges offer 160 hours courses at decent prices. There are the megas you can go to aswell, but they'll want you to be under contract for a year.

Contact this company; might put you in a non-cdl truck for awhile. Work there 7 months and that will give you 12 months total with a drivers license. Later can move into a cdl truck. Drive CDL and Non-CDL trucks including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport household goods and other materials.

After a total of 12 mos. with a drivers license, then can switch to www.wdtmilk.com or www.cfidrive.com or stay with Apple Moving.
Apple is a big company with 9 terminals in 3 states.

How old are you? Most companies have a 21 min age.

That is cool. Had a lot of folks around your age going through the school at CRE, so you definitely aren't alone at starting at your age.
