Just obtained my class a cdl after a lot of studying and hard work and lots of out of pocket $$$$$$. I did this to avoid the long contracts and low entry level pay. Well I'm finding out with no on road training I'm not getting anywhere with this cdl and new career I'm trying to approach. WHAT CAN I DO????

Depends on what you are looking for, OTR, local, solo, team, dry van, refer, flatbed, tanker, step deck, as well as where you are located at.
I can tell you if you wait 4-6 weeks after you finished school most will make you run through a refresher, or sign a contract. If you are withing the 4-6 weeks call around and ask if they require a contract. I am Prime bound next week, was going with Jim Palmer but they wanted a contract, Prime did not.I will still have to do the 40k miles, but at least it is paid and I don't have to test until I am finished with training. -

Where is your location; city/state?
Tell us that and we'll have you rolling down the highway in a few days.
Also, we need to know your age and if you have a criminal record. This way we know which companies will hire you.LWT104 and austinmike Thank this. -

Want to travel; you're what trucking wants. Plenty of good jobs waiting for you.
Do some online applications, then follow with a phone call and say, "I'm checking on my job application."
Apply to as many companies as you like; the more the better.
