Im in central NH. Its still snowing and the wind is going to pick up into the evening. If you do leave out, stay off route 9/4. Its hilly and very curvey into VT. Stick to the big roads and then run 90 across Mass. Then personally I'd shift south on 84 into CT to the 287 to 80. Or 90 into NY then south on 87 to 80 and across. Theres supposed to be winds shifting down from the northwest out of central Canada this evening. So thats why id run 80 west instead of 90 which borders closer to the great lakes. The blowing snow from the wind along with heavy wind itself will make for a slow ride.

Not. I navigated my second route, and am now on I-90 a bit west of Albany with nearly 4 hours to drive.

Fine go in mass all I know is what I heard from a mass official on the weather channel.Maybe it was a short ban.You still should call just to be on the safe side. That's what I get for trying to help truckers out.I'm exhausted from trying to be of help.

Oh man; it's snowing like Hades here.
I'm on the coast in northern Mass. and I just got done shoveling my driveway.
The time is exactly 5:50 PM as I write this and it's still coming down pretty hard.
I wouldn't go out until tomorrow when things clear up a bit.
And to think that I left my beloved Huntington Beach, Calif. makes me ask myself if all this white stuff was worth the move?
Ahhh yes... to live where my most favorite beverage (Sam Adams) was born makes everything worth the sacrifice every time.

    Thank You!

    In fact:

EVERYONE who offered advice, thank you. I couldn't listen to it all before making a decision, but I did stay off state roads, which was probably a good thing. The early comments warned me off my first route. The second route wasn't as well-plowed as I would have hoped, but it was good enough.

    Outstanding.

I like these battles in trucking, what to do in a situation like today. Which way to go. I thrive on it. I don't always succeed. Stories come out of that.

    I ended up taking:
NH 101 east out of Milford, NH.
    I-293 north to Bow, NH.
    Fuel.
    I-93 north to I-89 north.
    I-89 north to US-4 east.
US-4 east to a short stretch of road I can't remember, which connected me to I-87, then to I-90 west.

I-89 north was worse than most of US-4.
