New HOS....yep

All you have to do is stand in line at the Pilot Flying J to pay for your coffee, that will take 25 minutes right there.

 

If you drink coffee...and even then, its not really a cost effective way to spend the time.

I don't drink coffee...never cared for it.

As was already mentioned...I use truck stops for fuel, parking, and showers...everything else is either too expensive or they just don't have what I want (real food).

I've been here at this Flying J since Friday afternoon...and I've only been inside for the shower and a few trips to the bathroom...so far, they haven't gotten one red cent of my money.


I have thought about it a lot...and there is no good way to spend that 30 minutes...no matter how you slice it...its 30 minutes of your life wasted...30 minutes every day, that you aren't making money.

All I have is time...and if I'm not getting paid for it, or enjoying it...I'm wasting it!

There was already too much if that in trucking before the new HOS...we didn't need more of it.

Pay me at least $12 for that 30 minutes...and I'll shut up about it.

 

If you have your wife in the truck with you, that 30 minutes could be spent doing very valuable things.

I thought I had heard all of the possible nicknames for... Err marital relations. But "gin rummy" is a new one on me. I'll have to try that on the next girl I flirt with on my home time

 

Alright....in the case of "gin rummy"...I think the break should be at least an hour, maybe 2.

Set the brakes at the pump in Sligo/New Castle, KY #28 off I-71 at 7:33. Went in to get my PFFP additive then proceeded to the counter to give cardless transaction info. Little Cutie behind the counter took a little longer than I was hoping- but I let her smile and flirt with me- they usually can't help themselves, so I just let 'em. Fueled up 118 gallons, did my load check and washed the windshield, got about 4 gallons of DEF. Pulled up. Went back inside to use the restroom (Inside), WASHED MY HANDS as I always do (I am riddled with OCD- germaphobe), went back and let the girl flirt with me some more as I got a $20 cash advance. Then proceeded back to my truck, but along the way past my trailer, I slowed down just a bit to admire my stellar tarp job-and smiled as I imagined just how good it was compared to SOMEONE ELSE'S (who due to his wreckless emotions will remain nameless), and then proceeded on my way at about 7:47. Hmmm..... Supertrucker?? No. I and my colleaugues are something better than that. We are Mavericks.

 

Get y'all's minds outta the gutter, what are y'all truckers?? Nah, we really do play gin and my wife whoops my butt every time.

 

Hell...I figured I'd "play more than one hand"...since I was already parked and everything.
